The Michigan Gift Café allows for tourists and locals alike to benefit from a relaxed shopping environment in which to create or capture unique Michigan experiences and memories through products produced locally or within the state. Artisans and manufacturers of unique goods will have an outlet for their products designed to create lasting, positive memories of Michigan in the customer’s mind.

Business travelers, tourists and locals can sample Michigan-specific food & drink, listen to soothing music, view and purchase local artistry and goods, or just surf the internet while sitting with friends in a relaxing, no-pressure, lodge-like environment.  It could become the ‘place to be’ after a long day of touring or shopping.

Expecting to open in Traverse City in April 2011, the Michigan Gift Café will use internet marketing, travel and social networking sites for promotion.  Additionally, promotion will occur through resorts, recreational clubs, tourism trade shows, and tourism organizations.
