The Roots of Michigan Bistro is a restaurant, wine bar, and gift shop with an emphasis on Michigan products.  It allows for tourists, business visitors, and locals to benefit from an environment in which to create or reflect on Michigan memories. Michigan farmers, artisans and manufacturers of unique goods will have an outlet for their products – designed to create lasting, positive memories of Michigan in the customer’s mind.

Guests will enjoy cuisine which celebrates local, regional, and ethnic traditions, with an emphasis on fresh, semi-portable foods suitable for picnics, boating, or simply for a take out meal.  Additionally, Michigan wines, beers, and distilled products will be featured.  Local singer-songwriter musicians and performing artists will enjoy the venue at Roots, as will the guests who casually shop, eat, surf the ‘net, or simply visit with friends, family, and associates in a relaxed setting.

Roots is currently seeking equity and customer-focused operational partners with the goal of opening in or near Rochester, Michigan in 2013. Roots will use internet marketing, travel publications and social networking sites for promotion.  Additionally, promotion will occur through hotels, resorts, recreational clubs, professional organizations, trade shows, and tourism organizations.
