The years fly by, and…

Have you ever looked at your life, and realized that by your existence  each day little changes happen in the world?  Ok, maybe the world doesn’t change, but your existence does.   Do people fundamentally change?  Does the world, really? What does it mean when someone “finds themselves?”  No, I haven’t been smoking something funky, or binge drinking…

To me, life is discovery and adventure.  Good or bad, my father always told me, “you learn something new every day.”  It’s so true if you pay attention enough.  I have learned several new skills over the last year, and I think I’ve learned more about myself as well.  Some of the skills, perhaps,  are innate,  and some may be subliminally or overtly passed on to me from my family and friends.   For other skills, I am grateful for the opportunity to have shared the last year with a wonderful, diverse group of students, friends, teachers, chefs, and community members.

It is to these people and to the patient support of my wife that I attribute my new found talents and confidence to go forth into the “great beyond” of  post-graduation (again) life adventures.  It may sound cliche’, but I coudn’t have done it alone.  Thank you to all who helped me grow, and I hope through our interaction, something positive also rubbed off on you, figuratively speaking, of course!

My time away from the corporate ‘grind’ has provided me with new perspective on those for whom I care most about, and renewed my deep and honest affection and interest in the livelihood of others.  Perhaps this renewed compassion for humanity will manifest itself into a new profession.  Whatever happens, I know I will pursue it with a passion which was diminished before the shocks brought about as a result of the recent recession.

Transivit LLC will likely transform to something new in the year or years to come, but it will always be about the intrigue of what’s over the sea, crossing over to the exciting, and conquering the unknown.  Grow with me, and know that you learn something new every day.
